Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about PDFKit and how our tools work.
- Is PDFKit really free?
- Yes, every tool on PDFKit is completely free to use. There are no hidden charges, no premium tiers, and no limits on how many files you can process.
- Are my files uploaded to a server?
- No. All processing happens entirely in your browser using client-side JavaScript and WebAssembly. Your files never leave your device. We cannot see, access, or store your documents.
- Do I need to create an account?
- No. PDFKit does not require registration, sign-up, or any personal information. Just open a tool and start working.
- Is there a file size limit?
- There is no hard limit enforced by PDFKit. However, very large files (over 100 MB) may be slow to process depending on your device and available memory, since all work happens in the browser.
- What browsers are supported?
- PDFKit works in all modern browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. We recommend using the latest version of your browser for the best experience.
- Can I use PDFKit on my phone or tablet?
- Yes. PDFKit is fully responsive and works on mobile devices. Some tools with complex interactions (like drag-and-drop reordering) may be easier on a desktop, but all tools are functional on mobile.
- What happens to my files after processing?
- Your files exist only in your browser memory while you are using the tool. Once you close or refresh the tab, all file data is discarded. Nothing is saved or cached on our end.
- Can I use PDFKit offline?
- Once the page has fully loaded, most tools will continue to work without an internet connection since all processing is client-side. However, you need an internet connection to initially load the page.
- How do I report a bug or suggest a feature?
